Katelyn Sanchez is a dance artist based in Long Beach, California. As a ballet teacher, dance-maker, performer, and collaborator, she emphasizes community and personal narrative. Sanchez’s training includes a conglomeration of techniques but is most informed by Kirsten Oakley-Ragsdale, Melanie Akins and Tai Jimenez at Boston Ballet, Rebecca Lemme, Laurel Jenkins, Gracie Whyte, Summer Brown, and Keith Johnson. She has also trained and performed for Lorin Johnson, Sophie Monat, Rebecca Bryant, and Robert Moses. Most recently, Sanchez has presented work at Highways Performance Space, performed in Gold Series No. 1 at ARC Pasadena, performed in L. A. Grand Ensemble’s opera, Dulcinea XL, choreographed two operas, and co-produced a show, To: person, place, or thing From: x, y, z, at the Garage Theatre in downtown Long Beach. Currently, Sanchez is in rehearsals with alexx makes dances for the 2020 premiere of Nothing There There (Topography) at Stomping Ground L.A.
