About
Stephanie was born and raised in Southern California. She began dancing and performing at the age of 5 at the Academy of Dance, training extensively in ballet and tap, and later training en pointe and jazz. Stephanie grew up attending various conventions and competitions with her studio, winning top overall team awards.
Stephanie graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Applied Science and a specialization in Business and Administration. While at UCLA, she was very active in student organizations including the Nikkei Student Union. For five years, Stephanie was a key participant in their annual Cultural Night show, which performed for audiences of over 1,200 people with an annual budget of $15,000-20,000. Stephanie was a main dancer in the musical theater, hip hop, and Japanese cultural dances, and she also acted in the shows. During her last year, Stephanie also directed the Cultural Night show, which included two plays, and three dances. She choreographed one of the dances for the show and was a main dancer in all dances as well. Following UCLA, she continued her dance training in tap, ballet, and jazz at EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, California.
Following UCLA, Stephanie started working as a business consultant, providing strategy, process improvement, and project management support to banks and insurance companies. She worked for the same firm for over 20 years, and was a Principal and the Chief Administrative Officer.
Stephanie has been an owner of Dancemark Studio since 2013. She continues to mentor and train dancers at the studio, both at the elite competitive level and recreational level. Stephanie helps coordinate the training and evaluation of all elite competitive dancers, mentors and schedules teachers / classes, participates in the audition process to choose the competition teams, finalizes teams and schedules, schedules regional and national competitions, and serves as the primary liaison with the competition companies and schools.
Stephanie is married and is a proud mom of two.
